Who is K&M Breeding?
Hello, and welcome to "Birdie Lane" My name is Kelli, I'm a mom of 2 teens, I've been interested in birds since I was a child, but my mom always told me "No, they're too messy" ;), Well since I couldn't own a bird, I read all I could find on them, I researched them at every chance I got. I've always been an animal lover, I grew up with cats, dogs, and I raised rabbits for 4-H for 10 years. I installed that same animal love into my children, they've grown up owning animals, and are the first out the door when they see a injured or lost animal to try and help the animal in anyway possible.
I bought my first bird May 2007, It was my Mother's day gift from my children, they didn't know about it until they got home from school. I bought a 4 month old Budgie (aka Parakeet), We named him Tweety, He lived to be almost 8 years old, He was my very first bird, and he's what started K&M Breeding! After 20 years of researching birds I finally got to own my own. I researched almost daily, and I still do, you can never stop researching on birds, their needs change so much.
A few months after Tweety came into our home, I bought a Green Quaker Named Billy, shortly after that I bought another Budgie named Sky, Tweety tried to be friends so hard with Billy, but Billy was having none of it, so I got Tweety a friend, then my children wanted birds they could handle, and then Enters 2 beautiful girl cockatiels, a White Face named Baby, and a Pied Named Nibbles. And the rest is pretty much history :)
I no longer breed Budgies, I'm now focusing on Cockatiels, Peach Face Lovebirds, and Green Cheek Conures. I've also been known as a "Foster Fail", I was fostering a Green Quaker Named Gumby for a friend of mine who takes in unwanted birds, and well she chose me and is mean to everyone else, but she'll give me kisses and cuddles with me, and loves me just as much as I love her, She has been a bit less active since Billy died a few years ago, but I just give her more loving to help her through her hard times , She's 25 years old now ( 2015). But to see her in action you'd never think she was that old, she still acts like a young bird, loves to play, and dance, and goof off. She's my lil' green goof ball.
